Casa Cucitura

The project restores the apartment’s nineteenth-century spirit through a fresh, contemporary intervention that reimagines its shared spaces. The living room, kitchen, study and dining room are stitched together by a sinuous run of wood panelling that extends along the length of the home, guiding movement and incorporating furniture, cupboards, bookcases and storage.

The warmth of the oak meets an enveloping geometry of curved corners. Carefully restored original mouldings bring memory and contrast to the clean, calm lines of the new design. Natural light moves across the curves, reinforcing an elegant, continuous and welcoming domestic atmosphere. Every element sits within a balanced visual whole.
